"Indeed, installing a seat correctly goes beyond the instructions you'll find in a manual or online. In fact, following manufacturers' cues such as the green-colored level indicator on a car-seat base will often lead to an erroneous installation. It is unlikely you'd be able to get the base locked in place while still leaving enough room for proper movement in the event of an impact. No, to install a seat correctly you'll need the expertise of someone like Cindy-and maybe an approved Pool Noodle or two."
